Jacob Ramasamy - Class of 2025 - GHIN# 724219
As a multi-sport athlete I have learned many lessons in coping with adversity and have applied those lessons in my daily life as well as classroom situations. I played team sports, most recently baseball through most of my high school career. During those moments of adversity I always knew my teammates would be there to encourage and support me. However, as I transition to golf in a full-time capacity I have learned to dig deeper during tournament rounds to find moments of inner confidence, knowing that the work I have put in will pay dividends. I know this is a long journey and I am confident in my ability to persevere as I can bring forth my lessons learned from the other sports I have played.
My goal is to play for a college program where I am going to be taught, challenged and grow as a player and as a leader in the school and in the community. I have been told by my coaches that I am extremely coachable, listen very well and a strong student of the game. I will bring the same discipline and tenacity to the golf team. I enjoy being part of an organization where I can be part of making a difference and It’s important for me as I consider colleges to play Golf.
My Parents have always emphasized the importance of education and paying it forward in society. I have been actively involved in multiple volunteering opportunities ( Turtle Patrol @ Kiawah Island, Vacation Bible School at our Church, Special Baseball Stars for special needs Children, Teens in Emergency Services (TIES) in Ridgewood, Adventure Leadership Programs (ALPS) at Ridgewood High School ). I am interested in areas of Bio-mechanics, Exercise Science and Kinesiology as possible areas of study. I am looking to play in a golf program where education, community and sports are prioritized equally.
