Throughout my career as a student-athlete I’ve refused to ever “ring the bell” be it on the field or in the classroom. Having a D1 QB commit ahead of me at my Texas 6-A High School, I didn’t earn the starting QB position until I was a senior. Sure, I considered going to a HS where there was a better opportunity to start as a QB earlier, however, I chose to stay at Johnson High School because of the equally competitive academic opportunities it offered. I took my reps where I could and played wide receiver as a Junior which I saw as an opportunity to increase my offensive IQ. My senior year, I earned the starting QB position and with it the outstanding opportunity to help lead my team to an undefeated District Championship, the first in school history. I also broke school records for pass completions in a single game (34) and pass completions in a season (188 ) . Throwing for over 2700 yards and 27 touch downs my senior season, I am grateful to have be named 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-Area (San Antonio). I also earned All-State Academic honors, having maintained a 4.0 GPA as a 2-sport athlete, which is something very important to me. Throughout my football and academic career I have learned to trust the process and that hard work does pay off. I proudly embody a can-do, will-win attitude with everything I take on which I believe will help me in my interest of of studying health and medicine in college.
