Track and Field has changed my life in the past year. Being a 5'7 Asian athlete it wasn't easy to play any sports as I was always at a disadvantage, whether it was basketball or football. Track has given me an opportunity to outwork my competitors and win at whatever cost I need. While I am undersized, my disadvantages is what motivates me to become the best and prove others wrong. This determination has pushed me through many aspects of my life and will continue to push me to become better.
I run track for one reason, to win. Track in my opinion is the hardest sport to do, pushing and putting your body through pain every practice just to become better. This process is not easy but I push myself and my teammates every practice in order to achieve the ultimate goal of winning. I also understand the process of losing, I understand that I have to lose over and over again to become the best version of myself. Losing is just another opportunity for myself to work harder to win. This attitude of mine is contagious to my team and motivates my teammates around me as well. My competitiveness has also translated off the track. Even with Track and my other extracurriculars I am still an honors student and have taken the hardest classes with 8 AP's and a weighted GPA of 4.3.
My goal in college is to attend a college with a strong academics (business) and to simply compete. I want to be able to go against the best athletes I can so I can push myself to become one of the best. To continuously improve my craft as there are always flaws and ways to improve myself. One thing I can assure my future coach is that my motivation and competitiveness will never be deterred and I will listen, learn, and work to compete and represent whichever school I attend.
