I began playing sports in fourth grade, first soccer and then basketball. I immediately fell in love with all aspects of defending. I will do anything in my power to win a ball on the soccer field or get a rebound on the court. My club soccer team is based two hours north of my home so on club practice days I attend school, then school practice, and then immediately head north to be with my club team. I complete my schoolwork in the car each day and have been able to maintain a 4.14 even with this rigorous practice schedule. I enjoy being a part of my church youth group and volunteering at our local soup kitchen and elementary schools as well as at summer soccer camps. I hope to attend an academically challenging university to study nursing or pre-med which will allow me to fulfill my dream of working with disabled children in a healthcare capacity.
Soccer is my passion and I work hard every single day to get better whether it be at an organized club or school practice, with my local soccer trainer, or consistently increasing my fitness level at the gym. I am completely committed to becoming the best player I can possibly be for myself, my team, my coaches, and my family who have sacrificed so much over the years for me to be able to play soccer at this level. I know playing a collegiate sport takes time, dedication, and passion; I have the work ethic that it will take to succeed. What makes me a great soccer player is my ability to see the field from the back and to effectively communicate with my teammates. I have learned that being a leader on and off the soccer field and the basketball court starts with communication and I enjoy taking on a leadership role within my teams.
It is my greatest desire to continue playing the game I love at the collegiate level while pursuing a degree that will enable me to have a fulfilling career.
